Halo PC Trial
Halo PC Info
Thanks to other Halo Fans, there are still programs with which to easily edit Halo PC:
.net Framework: This will setup a .net framework on your computer. It is necessary for several tools listed.
Halo Map Tools: HMT is a program made by MonoxideC, which allows the user to easily do hex swapping, model extraction and injection, skin extraction and injection, map rebuilding, and LOTS more.
Spark Edit: Spark Edit 3.02 is an excellent program made by Grenadiac that allows the user to move objects around in a level. It can also create teleporters, duplicate objects, and swap objects.
Halo Hacker Tools: HHT allows for: dependency swapping, meta saving and injection, recursive saving, fixing of reflexives and dependencies (if they are present in the map), tag type changer and a filename Editor. I am not very familiar with this program.
Halo PC Retail Offsets: The offsets needed to edit the retail version of Halo PC with Hex.
Meta/Hex How-To's: Bigmick's Meta/Hex Editing How-To site (Note this is a very old site. The tutorials are great quality, but some of the other stuff may be out dated)
Hex Workshop 4.23: Program used in Hex/Meta Editing
PPF-Studio: A very helpful program that allows the modder to make a "patch" of their mod. This can turn a 14,000 Kilobyte map into a 4 kilobyte .ppf (patch)
PPF-O-Matic: A very helpful program that allows the modder and non modder to apply a "patch" of their mod.
GMAX: Gmax is a free modeling program: It allows the user to create 3D Models.
Milkshape: Milkshape is much like GMAX, except it can import and export wavefront objects, the type that Halo PC uses.
.DDS Plugin: This Plugin allows the modder to skin with Adobe Photoshop
WinRAR: WinRAR is a program that allows you to compress files into .rar or .zip formats. Many people use .rar formats, so it is recommended that you download this.
This is all that we have to post for now about Halo PC editing. The average modder needs just Halo Map Tools and Spark Edit. If the modder is planning on sharing their mods, it is recommended that they download the PPF-Studio and PPF-O-Matic to save server space.
It is recommended that before modding, the modder backs up all their .map files.
The information on this page is provided as is. We are not responsible for any damage done to your computer due to these links or programs. We do not claim ownership over any programs unless mentioned.

Open up the map you want. Click the "Edit" tab. Under mode, click the type of object you want. Find your object on the map and click it. Click the "Swap" drop down and find the thing you want to swap it for.

Some things have the wrong names. For weapons and stuff, I think it might be tags or something. Just guess and check.

The maps are located on C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/Maps
And the weapons/objects are in the map file itself.
What, did you think modding Halo to have new weapons was going to be as easy as finding them on the Halo CD and injecting them into a map of choice? Nice try,.... Even I wish it was that easy :-/

You need to be using Halo PC for the following ways to get what you're looking for.
Open up Halo Map Tools. Then go to Models for the models of vehicles, guns, etc.
Go to Vehicles to edit the vehicles, go to Projectile or Weapon for the weapons. You'll figure it out.
