150,000 years before the events of the first Halo, there were two dominant alien life forms; The Precursors, and the Forerunners. They fought a war against each other. So just in case The Precursors lost the war against the Forerunners they developed the flood. Roughly 110,000 before the events of the first Halo, the Humans accidentally released the Flood. This led up to the Forerunners creation of the Halo Array and eventually the activation of it.

During the Forerunner Precursor war the Forerunners wiped them out, except one that managed to live(for like 40,000 years >.>.

Maybe u meet him o.O i was thinking, somethin like, u meet the precursors, and then u tell em about what happened wit the flood nd they either get mad, or like tell u theres more graveminds... Etc.

I thought the Precursors became so powerful that they "ascended" into energy, which rendered their current war unnecessary... but I've never read the books.

I haven't heard anything like that o.O according to the Terminals in Halo 3 and Halo Cryptum what I said happened.

No, the covenant didn't even exist 150k years before the events of Halo.

Dude look at it this way, there were 3 important parties, humans, covenant, and the flood. The human and covenant were fighting when they realized how dangerous the flood were, so the humans were trying to destroy the flood. You fight the covenant at the same time, but in actuality the most dangerous enemy is the flood. If i'm correct the gravemind is dead now, But most likely there will be more flood introduced, but my theory is, is that there will be a new party, most likely some form of precursor's, or someone hinted at in the books/games.

This reminds me, I hope that if they do have brutes they won't use the armored ones like in H3/ODST (especially hate the ODST ones, what's up with them using energy shields? That makes them too much like elites.).

I hope that the spirit of fire will be introduced in halo 4.
I'm sure that the elites are going to be introduced in Halo 4,(arbiter too,they are so cute).

No one has any reason to be chasing after John-117, as far as the ending of Halo 3 showed. Also, just because the Brutes lost the war does not mean that their entire species is gone.

I honestly don't see where Halo 4 fits into the Halo Storyline. I mean they could do Grey Team, but nearly all the loyalists are dead. Does MC just, "wake up," a thousand years in the future were a new war has started? That would be kind of lame if you ask me.
