Hi there. I have a question.
I'm trying to make a variant of Blood Gulch.
When I type in, "tool build-cache-file" I get an error saying that
the map is missing Elite MP, Elite Special MP, and Scarab tags.
I don't get this, I downloaded the tags and it's still not working, help?

CE to PC Tag Importing. (PMI)
07 May 2010 - 05:14 PM
Hello. I'm Y-547.
Today, I'm going to write a completely clear and understandable tutorial about Tag Importing to Halo PC with Eschaton.
Just follow the steps, but you'll need the follow before you start.
- Eschaton 0.8 (or latest version)
- Halo PC and Custom Edition
- A Map for Halo PC
- A Map for Halo CE (one that is UNPROTECTED [Protected tags do not rip.])
(NOTE: Maps like RPG open 4 is a map with unprotected tags. Always ask permission of the map author before ripping tags.)
Once you got those tags, you can start.
Part One: (Exporting CE Tags)
1.) Open up Eschaton, and go to Open.
2.) Go to the tag you want to rip. (For this tutorial, I want a Phantom in Blood Gulch.)
3.) Click the tag and go to the "MAP" tab and click "Recursively Extract Tag".
4.) Most of the time, you'll get a window with 3 options on it.
(CE tags are not indexed or in better terms, don't exist in normal Halo. To fix this, go to "Replace" and then another window for
sound and bitmaps, but again, click "Replace". [JUST REPLACE] Next, another window opens. Choose your Halo PC's "MAPS"
folder and click "OK". Eschaton will replace all the indexed tags and data for the maps. [This doesn't damage anything.])
Part Two: (Importing Tags)
1.) You can now go to your "FILE" tab. Click "Open and Expand" and choose your map. (Blood Gulch for example.)
(NOTE: The map will now load into Eschaton's memory. [It may take a minute.])
2.) Once the map is loaded, click it's name under maps. It should show the tag you ripped earlier.
3.) Checkbox it, and click "Import tags".
4.) It'll take a moment to import the tag(s).
Part Three: (Spawning it)
There is two ways to spawn your new vehicle.
- Swap the Global and Scenario data -
1.) Choose a pre-set vehicle. (The RWarthog)
2.) Under Referencing Tags, you should see the Scenario and Global tags.
3.) Double-click the tags in the referencing tags and it'll take you to the tag.
4.) Click the "Reference Swapper".
5.) Find the "vehi" tags and swap the "RWarthog" with the "Phantom".
6.) Do the same with the Globals tag.
7.) At the top of the stack, reclick the map's name.
8.) Rebuild it.
-The Other Way-
1.) Rebuild the map.
2.) Once done open up, Halo Map Tools.
3.) Go to your vehicle tag.
4.) Click it and you'll see at the top, it should say. "vehi" "unit" "obje".
5.) Switch it to, "scen" "obje" "yyyy"
6.) Click Save.
7.) Open Sparkedit.
8.) Import tags on Sparkedit.
9.) Switch a scenery object with your vehicle.
- Part Three BONUS (Make it driveable.)
1.) Go to the vehicle tag in Halo Map Tools.
2.) Go to the dropdown box for driver, and click "0".
3.) Switch it to G-driver.
4.) Save the tag.
Part Four: (Play it!)
1.) Name your old map. "bloodgulch orig.map".
2.) Rename your "build.map" to "bloodgulch.map".
3.) Open Halo PC and test!
If you did it correctly, you should see this!!

You injected a Phantom into Blood Gulch. Congrats! =D
